Boundary Park Profile

Boundary Park is the main sport stadium of Oldham, Greater Manchester, England, located in the Royton area of the Oldham Borough, just off the M62 motorway.

Oldham Athletic Association Football Club and Oldham Roughyeds R.L.F.C. play their home games there.

The stadium currently has an all-seated capacity of 13,624. It became an all-seater venue during 1994/95 – the season after Oldham Athletic’s relegation from the top flight of English football – and there are currently plans to re-develop the stadium. With Oldham currently in the third tier of the English league, the current capacity is adequate although Oldham will want to increase it should promotion be achieved. In the early days, the stadium could nearly 50,000 people. The highest crowd ever recorded at Boundary Park is 47,671, for an FA Cup tie between Oldham and Sheffield Wednesday.

On the 15th February2006, the club unveiled proposed plans for the redevelopment of their current ground, Boundary Park. The plans would see every stand other than the Rochdale Road end being redeveloped. The new 16,000 seater stadium would have a four-star hotel, conference and banqueting facilities, 100,000 square feet of offices and apartments and a leisure and fitness club with swimming pool.
