Euroborg

Euroborg is the name of football club FC Groningen’s new ground, with a capacity of 20,000 seats. Located to the south-east of Groningen, the Euroborg site houses a casino and a new movie theatre, a school, a supermarket and a fitness centre. A railway station is slated to open in 2009. A temporary station will be opened in 2007. The stadium seats are completely in the club’s colours: green and white. 1000 seats are available for the supporters of the away team. The Movie theatre (Mustsee Euroborg) has 10 rooms with 1900 seats. Its build as an design theatre with outstanding sound and projection features.

There are plans to expand the stadium by 4000 seats to a capacity of 24,000.

Besides the present nickname de Groene Hel (the Green Hell) it also is called de Groene Kathedraal (the Green Cathedral).
