Profile
Hurstville Oval is a picturesque and famous sporting venue. Situated in the St.George District, the ground has a small grandstand and the recently constructed Booth-Saunders Pavilion.
In 1931 an estimated 10,000 people attended the ground to see Donald Bradman and Alan Fairfax play for St.George against Northern Districts.
Hurstville was the first home ground of the St.George District Rugby League Football Club and also hosted St.George Rugby Union, St.George Soccer and the St.George Australian Rules.
It is still the home ground of the St.George District Cricket Club; the most successful team in the Sydney Grade Cricket competition. A feature of the ground is the velodrome which is used by the St George Cycling Club.
