Profile
Yokohama Stadium is in Naka Ward, Yokohama, Japan. It is primarily used for baseball, and is the home field of the Yokohama BayStars. It opened in 1978 and holds 30,000 people. Yokohama Stadium is unique in that it resembles a United States baseball field, with a grass infield and outfield, with all-dirt basepaths. This is worth mentioning because the few outdoor stadiums in Japan (Koshien Stadium, Hiroshima Municipal Stadium, Meiji Jingu Stadium, Fullcast Stadium Miyagi, and Skymark Stadium) all either look like softball fields with all-dirt infields, or they have the look of the Toronto Blue Jays’s Rogers Centre with artificial turf infields and outfields and dirt bases. Yokohama Stadium is the only venue in Japan with an American look.(source .. wikipedia) reproduced under GFDL
